About a year and a half ago Joya de Nicaragua release the Cabinetta series, a cigar wrapped with a light colored Ecuadorian wrapper but the tip of the cigar is wrapped with a dark and oily Nicaraguan tobacco to make the flavors rich and complex. A quite interesting story, which made me want to try the cigars. This toro came from a sampler with 4 different Joya de Nicaragua toros. The cigar is 6x50.

The dark tip of the cigar has a big vein and the Ecuadorian part of the cigar has a few thin veins. The wrapper is quite oily. The construction feels good and I smell a barnyard with straw. The predraw is fine, I taste tobacco with a little bit of chocolate.

I taste a mild and musty soil with a little bit of dark chocolate. After half an inch I taste musty straw with some spicy herbs in the aftertaste. After an inch I taste spicy but musty herbs with some citrus and some pepper in the aftertaste.

After a third I taste more spice, but not pleasant, and the flavors don't change till I reach the dark Nicaraguan wrapper. Then I taste a bit sweetness, and some mild and spicy burned herbs with a peppery aftertaste.

The smoke time of this cigar is an hour and a half. The draw is great and I got a lot of smoke. The light gray ash is frayed and ugly, but firm. The burn is straight. The cigar is medium flavored and medium bodied. Unlike the La Gloria Cubana with the two wrappers, the dark wrapper is put over the lighter wrapper.

Would I buy this cigar again? No, I didn't like it a bit
