Discussion>Help me find some good NON aromatics!
Darrell 05:25 PM 11-09-2008
I am not interested in aromatics and my experience with pipe tobacco is limited to Squadron Leader and a few others. I love the smell and taste of Squadron Leader and was looking for some more recommendations for nice smell and tasting NON aromatics. Thank you. :-)

Also, C&D Briar Fox isn't an aromatic right?

Jeepers Darrell... you just narrowed the picks down to about 10,000 blends. :-)

If you don't like Escudo or Full Virginia Flake (or the other choices Neuromancer listed) there is no hope for you.

Briar Fox is a strait Virginia Krumble Kake which is a nice change of pace from the ribbon cut blends. If you're going to try some C&D blends I defintely would get some bulk Burlys. Old Joe Krantz, Night Train and Morleys Best are few of my favs.
I also concur that Penzance is a must try!

Hope you're feelin' better man.

I ended up firing up last night anyway, and tried some bulk Peter Stokkebye Navy Flake - good stuff. Also I got my tin of Bracken Flake back from that friend I'd kicked it to (he decided the pipe wasn't for him).

I'll bring you some of each this weekend. I think you'll like both. Those are my two favorites so far.

I'll also bring the Junkyard Dawg plus some others I have.

:-)
