All Cigar Discussion>Rocky Patel 2003?

Hey guys, local B&M is having a Patel event, and while I won't be able to make it for the event, they described a cigar that has me wanting to try my first Rocky Patel cigar. They called the Vintage 2003 cigar a "carmelly-sweet" cigar which has me intrigued. What are your guys' thoughts on these?

Only one I am aware of is the 2003 Vintage Cameroon. Although, I'm not a RP fan. Review of one of these right here...

I saw a review (from a person who isn't a fan of RP) on another site about the Vintage Cameroon where the guy said it was fantastic. I have to admit I'm intrigued.

My local B&M has some of them. I guess I need to try one. I'll smoke one tonight and post up my thoughts.

Anyone else find it odd that the only pic in that review is of the bands? How do you write a cigar review without a picture of the cigar?

That totally turned me off from the review.

Yeah, I automatically deducted credibility on seeing that.

It's just one of the personal preference things. I've done a few reviews with no pictures at all. Some do reviews with loads of pics. Etc, etc. Plus, it was just a reference review to assist the OP. :-)

Totally understood. I can understand firing out a quick review with no pics on a forum like this, but it seems odd to post a review on your webpage without even a stock picture of the cigar.

If you like cameroon wrappers you should enjoy these. I'm not a fan of cameroon anymore but these impressed me.

Doesn't take much to make guys around here try something new!

Thanks for the info guys, I was gonna light one up today, but I woke up with a bit of a sore throat so unless that goes away it looks like no cigar for me. Saturday will be here soon enough though.

There are a few cameroon's that I like, AF Hemmingway and Ashton Puro Sol come to mind. These sound interesting, I may have to pick one get when I get home.
