Always wondered just who Adonias was exactly - I think I'm spelling his name wrong, too.

Thank you both - now that I know it, I can't even hear it mispronounced any more - I'm 19 years old, and that song's confused me for at least eight years. Thank God for CA :-)

And yes, it's most likely Ananias; my hearing's forty or sixty years ahead of the rest of my body I guess, never have been quite right, contrary to all the tests I've had. Left ear's clearer on the phone, but it's still bad sometimes.

I go so far as to buy expensive CD box sets of his complete discography for whatever record label when they turn up online*. Nothing really compares to classic Jones, static-free and packaged in a nice shiny box set from Amazon.com :-) good use of a college fund when the women do me wrong :-)
