Folks,
Today is National Day of Honour in Canada to mark the end of our country's mission in Afghanistan and to salute those who fought and died there.
Some of you know I'm a newspaper editor and I try not to spam you with our content, but we had a great interview yesterday with a dad whose son was killed there and I think it's a good read. Hope this isn't contrary to our no politics rule.
Personally, I offer thanks to troops from both sides of our border who fought there to make our world a better place.

Thank you to all of the Canadian warriors. They've stood by our side for a very long time now, in every war since WWI

The Dutch owe a debt of gratitude to the Canadian military, too, from WWII. Read up about it. The Dutch haven't forgotten, either.

Must have been nasty over there. A lot of the blokes I've met have quite bad PTSD. Certainly higher incidence than I remember as a SA conscript in Namibia in the 80's. Seems IED's in particular have messed with survivor psych.
Hat's off chaps - welcome home! Hope our US allies are home soon too.
