This cigar was gifted to me in July by my good friend (Mean) Darrell!!!
As advertised:
Country: Dominican Republic
Length/Ring: 5 x 54
Shape: Perfecto
Wrapper: Natural/Ecuadorian
Strength: Full
I love the tube these come in! They look very classy and the perfecto shape is one I really enjoy!
Image
The wrapper is light with almost flawless construction!
Image
I cut it at an angle with my Palio! The draw was like butter!
Image
The first flavor to come through was a strong black tea flavor. This smoothed out right
away and became mild tea notes.
Image
This is probably one of the most mild (in flavor) cigars I have ever had! This cigar had
absolutely no pepper at this point. It was as smooth as silk!
Image
This cigar needed no correcting throughout the experience! The wrapper burned very even!
At this point I thought it was going to become uneven but it continued to burn evenly!
A tinny-metallic essence is detected on my tongue.
Image
I paired this with a cup of coffee, but a cup of tea probably would have been a better pairing!
I had to display one of the many uses of the Palio Cutter!!!
Image
Once this cigar past the halfway mark the flavor smoothed out and I was getting less tin
and a little bit of black pepper... very little! This is a smooth cigar through and through!
The tin and pepper are very subtle! I detected a little cedar at this point.
Image
As you can see the near flawless construction allowed for a long ash! This is "the" cigar
for the person who enjoys a mild, smooth smoke!
Image
I had to nub it just in case something changed! No. It stayed smooth and mild! I really love
the perfecto shape! I find myself smoking more lanceros and perfectos lately!!!
Image
Total smoke time took 1 hour and 30 minutes.
Construction/Appearance: 10 out of 10
Flavor Balance: 7 out of 10 (could use more flavor)
Strength: Mild to Medium (this was not "full")
Over all experience: 9 out of 10
Value: This was gifted but I wouldn't pay more than $12
Singles can start at $18.00
Thank you (Mean) Darrell!!!

Great review Nice Darell.

I really enjoy those as well but I'm surprised you liked it 'cuz I thought I remembered you being a Cameroon hater. Guess it's hard not to like something as nice as the Emerald.

Had one today and it was like butter baby, aside from being a mild cigar I really enjoyed this vitola...buttery with a slight spice that really opened up and became very creamy at the bulb and narrowed into a tannic finish as I have a tendency to smoke med-full and my continuous pulls caused the cigar to develop a harsh taste. All in all a good morning smoke but considering the price point I wouldn't recommend it.

I bought a Treasure Sampler with all 5 of them and they are so pretty, I can't get myself to smoke one.
