No math or nothin.
Anyone know why dogs spin around and around before they poop?
I always thought they just like to point north when they ****.
Turns out that’s why.
But they also do it to make a mental map of new areas and orient themselves.
That’s why they get lazy about it at home.
Also, reindeer and caribou are the same thing.
What do you guys got?

Eh... that is partially true. Dog circle around to scan for threats before they are in a vulnerable position, such as pooping. I believe it is the same reason they do that when preparing to lay down to sleep. They don't want to be surprised.

Have also read they look at us when pooping because they're in a vulnerable state and are reassured by seeing their pack leader.
Same reason I like to make eye contact with Grace when squeezing a growler through the hoop.

I bet I could hit a 3-pointer right now, Vin-bob.

My catahoula bulldog turns around at least 6 or 7 times when laying down to sleep.
