I really cannot figure out what the point of that custom band is. As a jeweler, I dig the idea of making something cigar related, but why would you remove the existing band and replace it with a leather band?
If I could see some tangible reason for it, I would even consider making one! I have already made my own punch and 'cigar spike' tools from Sterling Silver, and have plans to make the cool little folding hinged 3 legged cigar holder from Silver also.
I just can't get past the pretentiousness and non-usability of this one.

yeah it really makes NO sense, if I saw someone taking off their band and replacing it with this, I would probably have to laugh very, very hard

You guys are looking at it all wrong. Think of the money you will save. instead of actually purchasing a true davidoff cigar, you can take your generic dog rocket, slap this on, and have a "davidoff compatible."
you had IBM computers and then IBM compatibles. You have Harley Davidsons and the Honda "Harley compatibles." Over time you will actually save money with this truly ingenious product.
Billy Mayes was so impressed with the money saving idea of this band that he was going to be the pitchman, FOR FREE. However, his untimely demise resulted in the use of the guy you see in the video.
