Initial Thoughts: This is a line of cigars is made by Pete Johnson, maker of the famed Tatuaje labeled cigars. As I understand it this cigar is the same blend as the El Triunfador Lancero, just in different sizes. Like everything made by Pete and Pepin, this is one finely crafted cigar. The wrapper of this cigar has a rough, sandpaper feel to it that can be attributed to the sheer amount of tooth on this wrapper. Let’s see how this puppy smokes!
Flavors: This cigar starts off with a blast of chocolate and settles down to a deep rich espresso and dark chocolate flavors that are somewhat sweet. The second third remains quite the same but a nice woody aspect is added. The final third got a little earthy and after a quick purge the cigar went back to the original flavors. The one gripe I have in the flavor department is that the finish seemed short. Most Tatuaje sticks have a nice long finish to them, this one missed in that department.
Smoking Characteristics: Good draw, decent burn, but the ash fell off prematurely. Overall, it does well in this category.
Final Thoughts: Overall I really enjoyed this cigar. It has nice deep rich flavors that any Maduro lover would go bananas over. While I wouldn’t consider picking up a full box of these I would consider splitting a box with a buddy.
Worth a Try: Absolutely, especially you Maduro fanatics
Buy Again: Yes
Enjoyablity: High to Very High
Comparable Cigars: El Triunfador, Liga Privada #9, Padron 1964 Maduro

Hmm... I've read elsewhere around here that Pete Johnson acknowledged that the El Triunfador is the same filler and binder as the Tatuaje Especial, with a different wrapper.
Which is true?
