All Cigar Discussion>Comparable to RP vintage 1992's

Hi All,

I'm still pretty new around here. I really like diversity in my cigars but the ones I keep coming back to as one of my favorites are the Rocky Patel Vintage 1992's or Vintage 1992 seconds (not including some of the CC's I've tried). Does anyone have any suggestions for some different cigars I can try in a similar flavor profile?

Thanks!

Randy

If you're just starting out, you need to try some Oliva, Tatuaje, Padron, and Ashton sticks... there are TONS of great brands out there now. Keep trying new things and you'll find your cigar niche!

If you like the 92's you will love the Decades! :-)

I bought a bunch of RP '92 seconds - they are have very dark wrappers and taste accordingly - a couple of years ago and I had one 2 days ago. I was truly surprised how good it was. It puts many higher priced cigars to shame. It is probably just about the only NC which gets better with age, not more bland. I wish I had bought more.......

+1.

I've never experienced a less-than-ideal draw or burn from one and they always have oodles of subtle, interesting flavors. I'm almost at a loss to compare them with anything, but AF Anejos do come to mind. Not the same, but definitely ballpark buddies.

In that same profile, I'd recommend:

Carlos Torano Exodus 1959
601 Blue
Padron 3000 Maduro
HdM Dark Sumatra

I enjoy the 92 Vintage Perfecto (second)too. If you are looking for something a little cheaper than the Vintage give the Nica Libra a try. Its not quite as good but can do the trick.
If you dont mind paying a little more $$ try the Padron 26 Natural. I found it to be very similar.
Keep in mind, I only like the flavors in the small versions of these sticks. Corona and smaller.

Surprisingly the flavors reminded me completely of the 92 vintage Perfecto. Only the Perfecto size though. I'm not to fond of the larger sizes. They get too boring too quick. The Perfecto actually goes thru 2-3 profile changes, nicely.
