Anyone else? I'm partial to the Okinawan Awamori (insert any brand here), but I'll take what I can get. Enjoying a bottle of Zanpa right now courtesy of my mother-in-law.

I have a bottle that I just opened up that I enjoy ever so often. Aoki Kakurei in the 750ml bottle, can be had for around 35-40 bucks/bottle. I prefer it warm over cold, but some sake taste alot better cold. Pretty much personal preference when it comes to cold/hot.

Okinawans drink it cold over ice mixed with water and that's the way I have it. I'm not a big fan of hot saki, but to each his/her own. Awamori traditionally is saki that has been twice distilled and I find it to have much smoother finish than saki from mainland Japan.

Been trying to find more of the unfiltered types, any recommendations?

I don't remember what kind but every Saki I had in Oki was awesome! :-)

I do prefer it cold though.

I read recently that saki is served warm to help to cover up any flaws in the saki, or make cheap saki more drinkable.

There is a saki brewpub here in Minneapolis that opened recently. Quite tasty.
