Troops Room>Sgt. Beale's homecoming
Col. Kurtz 09:42 PM 07-08-2009
I normally don't forward or post much of what I get in e-mail, but this was too important to delete.

Killed in action the week before, the body of Sergeant First Class John C. Beale was returned to Falcon Field in Peachtree City, Georgia, just south of Atlanta, on June 11, 2009 .

The Henry County Police Department escorted the procession to the funeral home in McDonough , Georgia . A simple notice in local papers indicated the road route to be taken and the approximate time. The link below is a short travelogue of that day's remarkable and painful journey. Watch this if you wish to have some of your faith in people restored.....remember, Freedom is NOT free.

Please share widely.

Notice also that the young children along the route are being taught about life, death, values and sacrifice. Even in death this soldier (and all who have perished) still serve. These are teachable moments and at once are profoundly sad.

This warrior and the young man quietly buried in Chugwater, WY or other remote place are not only hero's, but keepers of the truth.

When I become so dam cynical and angry about what is happening to this country I will view this to remind me that indeed good people still exist.

Rest in peace and God bless you Sgt. Beale.
